Annemarie Dyer's Biography

Annemarie's journey reflects a life of determination and growth, marked by transitions from her birthplace in Clarendon, Jamaica, to settling in Evanston, IL, in 1996. Her educational path after migration began at Evanston Township High School, where she laid the foundation for her future aspirations.

Driven by a passion for making a positive impact, Annemarie pursued higher education at Southern Illinois University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. This academic achievement not only showcased her dedication but also honed her skills in communication and strategic thinking.

Continuing her quest for personal and professional development, Annemarie is currently in the process of completing her associate in human services, specializing as a certified alcohol and drug counselor. This choice reflects her commitment to helping others overcome challenges related to substance use and mental health, leveraging her knowledge and empathy to guide individuals towards recovery and wellness. 

Having served in the Army National Guard, Annemarie brings a unique perspective to her endeavors, blending her military training with her passion for mental health advocacy and counseling. Her experiences as a veteran have shaped her values of integrity, service, and camaraderie, which she applies in her interactions with clients and colleagues alike.

Annemarie's journey embodies resilience, adaptability, and a strong sense of purpose, making her a valuable asset in the fields of counseling and human services. Her diverse background and educational accomplishments underscore her readiness to meaningfully contribute to her community and make a difference in people's lives.

Beyond her educational endeavors, Annemarie is a multifaceted individual with a love for singing, songwriting, and creative expression through hobbies like sewing and crafting.  Her curiosity about different cultures and experiences fuels her desire to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, enriching her understanding of the world.
